About Me

My experience as a counsellor spans more than twenty years. I firmly believe that it is possible to heal – to befriend yourself – and to nourish yourself & your loved ones in your relationships – even if you started out managing difficult experiences all on your own.

Most of my experience is in working with people from diverse backgrounds who experienced trauma in childhood; LGBTTI2QQ youth and adults; as well as people engaged in personal gender journeying or transition. Specific issues I have supported people with include parenting, settlement, healing from abuse, relationships, and sexuality.

As a psychotherapist, I work to create a space that helps clients explore and become comfortable with who they are. I draw on a variety of approaches, with a focus on what works for you. Among the psychotherapy approaches that I often return to are IFS (Internal Family Systems), attachment theory, temperament, trauma theory, and an anti-oppression approach to understanding our complex intersectional experiences of empowerment and vulnerability.

If you are looking for focused support while you explore patterns, goals, struggles and strengths, consider contacting me to make an appointment for an initial conversation. This can take place by phone or video.  It provides you with an opportunity to talk about your goals and concerns, ask me questions about my approach, and see whether our connection is a good fit for you.  An introductory appointment lasts 15-20 minutes and is free.

My office is located in downtown Toronto. It offers full wheelchair access, including accessible and gender neutral washroom facilities.

Because I am a Registered Social Worker, your health insurance plan may cover some or all of my services. If you pay out of pocket for sessions, you will be able to claim these payments as part of your medical expenses on your tax return.
