Presence here

In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, I acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional home and territories (Toronto and London) of many nations – including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples – which continues to be home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.

What is now known as London, Ontario, is located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Attawandaron Peoples, on lands connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum.

I recognize and honour the longstanding relationships with the three First Nations communities neighbouring the City of London: Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Oneida Nation of the Thames and Munsee-Delaware Nation.

I acknowledge and honour the urban Indigenous populations, including First Nation, Métis, and Inuit, who live in Toronto and London.
